Having over 15 years’ experience leading in the real estate and business industries. Mr. Gurney has a Bachelors degree in Science in the area of global business management along with a Masters in Business Administration in global business studies.
As a Deputy County Litigation Appraiser he was charged with the assessment and valuation of real property/ Commercial property within the county. Douglas played a critical part in the litigation department in the areas of appraisal, assessment, valuation & review including but are not limited to determining the relevance of arms-length transactions, commercial property acquisitions, determining stabilized values, budgeting, management, business development, serving as an expert witness at hearings and court proceedings, marketing properties/business and forecasting.
Previous to his work at the Maricopa County Assessor’s office Douglas has worked for Remax, and other various firms over his career having held positions of responsibility including team leader, manager, and business development. Private sector work includes; REIT’s, REIF’s, investor project development, residential/commercial real estate transactions, portfolio management, and other aspects of local, national and international real estate. Specialties include; development programs within both public and private organizations through a customized approach, Commercial & Residential Real Estate, M & A’s, Commercial property assessments & Valuations, Forecasting, Budgeting & analysis, professional management.

It is Mr. Gurney’s innovative approach to business, his extensive knowledge and understanding of the real estate market through the use of financial analysis, forecasting, trending, and knowledge of current market conditions that contribute to his previous, present and future success.
